Workplace screens

The same operational view, in front of the people doing the work

HumanDesk keeps configured screens in one fleet, assigns a view and department to each one and shows whether the board is online, unstable or offline.

Product in demonstration phase · no customers or real data

  • Fleet and last contact in one list
  • A defined view and department for every screen
  • A dedicated board opened in the device browser

HumanDesk screen management showing boards, locations, views and connection status
The problem

A board only helps when it shows the right view and someone knows when it stops responding

A switched-on television does not prove that a department can see current data. Every screen needs an identity, a clear scope and a simple connection check.

A view without context

The same content is not useful everywhere: an entrance, gatehouse, workshop and control room may need different boards.

An undefined scope

Rotas and assignments must cover either the organisation or a selected department, without relying on a label taped to the television.

A silent screen

When a page stops sending its heartbeat, the fleet must distinguish a short delay from an offline board.

Set-up

From the management panel to a dedicated screen

1

Create and identify

Give the new screen a name and location so the device remains recognisable in the fleet.

2

Choose a view and department

Select the operational content and scope it to the whole organisation or a configured department.

3

Open the board

Sign in to HumanDesk once on the mini PC, then open its dedicated /display/<id> address.

Status comes from the page heartbeat

The browser sends a periodic heartbeat. HumanDesk reports online, unstable or offline from the elapsed time and keeps events that help distinguish gaps, reloads and several pages using the same identifier.

Operational views

Every screen has one clear job

Available views depend on the organisation’s enabled modules and genuinely configured data.

Department rota

A rota grid for the organisation or selected department, with configurable period and absence display.

Safety cover

Expected personnel derived from planned rotas and leave; this is not evidence of actual attendance.

Department assets

Machine and equipment assignments for people in the department when the Assets module is enabled.

Planning and Efficiency

Demonstration jobs, operators and indicators; real use requires reliable, connected data sources.

Real boundaries

What HumanDesk does not promise today

  • Screens belong to the SaaS and on-premise editions, not the HumanDesk Micro 1.0 scope.
  • HumanDesk does not include televisions, mini PCs, installation or remote device management: hardware, browser and automatic start-up must be configured and tested in the workplace.
  • The status indicator measures the page heartbeat; it does not certify the network, operating system, power supply or physical panel.
  • The page needs an existing authenticated HumanDesk session on the device; it is not a public link and does not replace an MDM system.
  • This is not a digital-signage system for publishing slideshows, news or video; company communications remain a separate function.
  • Machine data, clocking, actual attendance, OEE and management-system connections require a separate analysis, implementation and testing project.

The rota comes before the board

The screen’s rota view comes from the HumanDesk planning already in use and does not create a second parallel rota.

Put the operational view where it is genuinely needed

We can show the demonstration fleet and define the device, access, department and required data before installing a real screen.
